Instructions

Step 1: Take a baking sheet and place the ½ eye of round on it (fat-side up). Drizzle the olive oil on the meat and coat it all over by massaging it with your hands. You can alternate any good-quality cooking oil (such as canola oil) for this recipe!

Next, hold the meat with your left hand and sprinkle the crushed black pepper and salt on it with your right hand. Keep turning the meat so that the seasoning covers the entire meat, leaving it at room temperature for 45 minutes . It can be said this is a necessary step when cooking eye of round roast

4. How to Slice the Beef Eye of Round

There are three ways (roasts, steaks, cubes) of cutting the beef eye of the round depending on how you wish to cook them.

Make sure you have a sharp knife to cut through the tough meat. Place the eye of around on a non-slip chopping board. Hold the meat firmly with one hand and cut in a downward motion with the other hand. For thinner slices, you may use an electric knife as it makes the job quick & easy.

  • For the eye of round beef roasts, measure 4-5 inches from the thicker end and slice with a sharp knife.
  • For the eye of round steaks, measure the 1-inch thickness and cut the meat across/against the grain.
